Darwell Reservoir

Darwell is a large 128 acre water with depths exceeding 20-30ft in many areas of the reservoir. The reservoir has numerous overhanging trees, over hanging bushes, a huge dam wall, water inlets and a pumping station outlet. There are many regions of the reservoir that are inaccessable without the use of a boat. The banks are flat in some swims and sloped in others. Successful baits include maggots, casters and lobworms for the match fish and sprats, herring or lures for the pike.

Darwell Reservoir is a popular venue amongst pike enthusiasts. The reservoir contains a vast number of large double figured pike that have been known to be caught in excess of 30lb in the past. The water is ideal for using spinners, lures and plugs due to vast amounts of water and the cleanliness of the water.
