The carp can often be seen cruising the surface in the warm summer months and hiding in the shade of the overhanging trees. Successful techniques include ledgering boilies under the trees, and surface feeding bread and dog biscuits. Surface feeding can be a little hazardous when the ducks are hungry. The average weight of each carp caught is 6lb to 12lb. The largest carp caught from Harmers Pond was a recently taken common carp weighing 21lb. The match fish can easily be caught by float fishing maggots, sweetcorn and lobworms.
