Directions

Hempstead Ponds are located off the A22 near Hempstead Lane. Traveling north along the A22 towards the Boship roundabout turn left into Hempstead Lane. Access to the fishery is via a gate on the right hand side, about 550 yards from the A22 and almost opposite the entrance to Tilehurst Farm. Look for the SAA signboard. There is a hardcore track along the right hand hedge to a second gate. Park along this track. Be sure to close the gates: livestock is often in this field. Access to the ponds is by foot through the second gate. The first pond is about 275 yards off to the half right, a second about 300 yards to the half left. See the map in the membership book. A third pond is close to the A22, with foot access only, follow the public footpath route.
