Southbourne Fishing Lake

Southbourne Fishing Lake was man-made during 1986 by East Sussex County Council as part of the Eastbourne Park plan. The lake is a 5½ acre water. The maximum depth is about 9 feet at the east end, between the pole edged area and the island, while the west end of the fishing lake is about 6 feet deep with a shelving shore. The south side of the lake is not accessible to the public or anglers, as it must be retained for conservation for the wildlife and this area has been extensively planted with trees. Do not fish beyond the "No Fishing Beyond This Point" signs. Succesful baits on Southbourne Lake include maggots and casters for the match fish, boilies for the large carp and sprats for the pike.
