Monk Lakes
Monk Lakes is a day ticket fishery located South of Maidstone in Marden, Kent. The fishery is spread over 120 acres
and is made up of seven lakes covering around 45 acres and one river. There is a good mix of fish species between
the fishing lakes and river which include good size Catfish to 48lb+ and Carp to well over 40lb.
Monk Lakes is one of the largest coarse fisheries in the UK.

Mallard lake is a 5 acre specimen Carp and Catfish fishing lake for the more experienced angler. The water has
many features including a lily pads, marginal reeds, contoured bottom and deep holes to 9 feet in depth.
Mallard lake has some good size Carp to around 45lb and Catfish to 48lb, very few fish on this lake weigh under 20lb's.
Mallard fishing lake is limited to a maximum of 10 anglers. Booking in advance is essential to fish Mallard Lake.

Puma Lake is 10 acres in size with three islands. Puma Lake is designed for the pleasure angler,
stocked with a mix of coarse fish along with some Carp to around 30lb.
During drier weather in the summer months you will be able to drive around the lake and park near
where you wish to fish which may particularly be ideal for disabled anglers.

Monk Lakes offer 2000m of river bank along the River Beult which contains some unusual and interesting plants and wildlife, especially dragonflies. Fishing using a swing tip of quiver tip produces good results.

"Visited Monk Lakes for my 50th birthday bash, 7 of us fished.. and they even reserved our swims that
I had chosen. Great three days fishing..I had 49 carp out an didn't count the bream or tench.. The biggest
was 14 1\2 pound and I had three at 13 1/2 ...fantastic session..was had by everyone..even had a Chinese
delivered to the bank...well worth a visit..5 stars..10/10.."

"I visited the fishery about 6 weeks ago and was on match lake No 2. I was using 8mm Red Krill Pellets on
a waggler about 3 feet out from the bank,and the Barbel were being landed thick and fast good fish up to about
3.5 to 4.00 lbs and a couple of carp one at 8 and the other at 10 lbs.Oh yes ,the barbel also like sweet corn...
What a terrific day..I`ll be back."
