Features: Overhanging Trees, Water Inlet
Lake Size: 1 acre
Lake Depth: 6ft
Swims: 5-6

Harmers Pond is a rectangle shaped lake. The lake has a water inlet at the far end of the water which is fed by a neighbouring pond. The waters is surrounded by trees, overhanging trees and bushes, this is an area a number of carp like to shelter in the day, especially the overhanging trees on the opposite side which are located 20 metres away.

There is a no fishing policy on the tree side banks or from the railings. The swims are flat, raised from the water edge.

Harmers Pond is teaming with carp, roach, rudd after having recently being restocked after receiving funds from a lottery grant. The carp can often be seen cruising the surface in the warm summer months and hiding in the shade of the overhanging trees. Successful techniques include ledgering boilies under the trees, and surface feeding bread and dog biscuits. Surface feeding can be a little hazardous when the ducks are hungry. The average weight of each carp caught is 6lb to 12lb. The largest carp caught from Harmers Reservoir was a recently taken common carp weighing 26lb. The match fish can easily be caught by float fishing maggots, sweetcorn and lobworms.

Catch Report

"nice place to fish"

"A nice place to fish, some good swims, the only down side is the constant through fare of people walking pretty much directly behind you. Not one to fish if you enjoy a bit of hush."
