Rye Nook Fishing Lakes

Rye Nook is located just before Rye Harbour half way along Harbour Road. Rye Nook is a mixed fishery that supports some huge specimen fish including carp to 37lb+ (ocean lake), bream to 4lb 8oz, tench to 8lb, shoals of large roach to 2lb+, large dace to 12oz, perch to 2lb, and extremely large eels have been taken from Rye Nook to 8lb 2oz. Rye Nook consists of four lakes which in total cover over 100 acres. The largest lake is the Ocean lake which totals 50 acres but is reserved for syndicate members only. The day ticket lakes include: The Little Nook, The Moorhen Lake and the Nook. The Little Nook supports a number of small carp, roach, rudd, bream and perch. The Moorhen Lake sports common and mirror carp to 25lb, bream, roach and rudd. The Nook is the serious match fisherman paradise with regular open and league matches taking place. The Nook has over 100 pegs and sports bream, tench, roach, rudd dace, eels and carp.

Little Nook - a 2 acre banana shaped lake surrounded by reeds, trees and bushes.
Moorhen Lake - a 2 acre oval shaped unsheltered pool.
The Nook - a very large lake with in excess of 100 swims.
Jakes Lake - a small lake with water plants a lilies.


Little Nook Lake

Little Nook is a long, thin, boomerang shaped water that is approximately 2 acres in size. The water is surrounded by many reeds and the a number of overhanging trees and bushes. Little Nook is only fishable from the Harbour Road side of the lake. The lake supports 30 pegs that are generally at the bottom of sloped banks.

Moorhen Carp Fishing Lake

Moorhen Carp fishing Lake is a oval shaped, 2 acre pool. The lake is an open pool with the odd scattering of reeds and overhangin bush. The water offers 20 pegs that are generally flat grass banked swims level with the waters edge.

The Nook is a massive 100 peg+ long, meandering water with 3 large islands, many reed beds, overhanging trees and overhanging bushes.

directions

From Hastings Direction: Take the A259 (Royal Military Road) to Rye. When you reach the end of Royal Military Road turn right onto Harbour Road. Rye Nook is three quarters of the way down Harbour Road on the right near a church and housing estate. If you reach the shops on your left you have gone just to far.

From Other Directions: Take the A259 or A268 to Rye. Travel through Rye heading for Hastings. You should pass over a bridge that crosses the river Tillingam. Once you have crossed the river you will find Harbour Road 500 metres down the road on the left. Rye Nook is three quarters of the way down Harbour Road on the right near a church and housing estate. If you reach the shops on your left you have gone just to far.
