Oakford Farm Fishery

Located in the hamlet of Nounsley, in the village of Hatfield is Oakford Farm Fishery. An Essex fishery that is made up of 3 coarse fishing lakes that were built in1993 and are set in peaceful surroundings. Lakes are stocked with tench, carp, bream, golden orfe, roach and rudd. The waters are run on a day ticket basis, fishing competitions are often held at the lakes.

Oakford Farm Fishery consists of 3 lakes which include:

Small Lake - ideal for children and new anglers, stocked with carp, tench and bream.
Top Lake - 23 peg lake stocked with carp averaging between 2-7lb.
Middle Lake - a 21 peg lake that holds a number of double figure carp.

Small lake is popular with children and newcomers to angling, as the lake is well stocked with carp, tench and bream and you are guranteed to catch.

Top Lake

A 23 peg kidney shaped fishing lake that's stocked mainly with carp into double figures, though averaging 2-7lb. Recently Oakford Farm fishery have planted a number of trees around the lake and waterplants around the island. This water is popular with day ticket anglers and club competittions.

Middle Lake

A 21 peg lake surrounded by trees, there is an island located at the deeper end of the lake. The water is stocked with carp with a number of double figure carp. Middle lake often produces competition weights of in excess of 100lb.

directions

Bocking is 3 miles north of Braintree on the A131. Heading towards Sudbury, follow the brown tourist signs and turn off the A131 into Bocking Church Street. The fishery is signposted half a mile down Fennes Road, which is a right turn by the Village Hall.
