Shillinglee carp fishery is located on the Sussex / Surrey border, has 4 fishing lakes / ponds stocked with a mixture of fish both big and small. The main specimen lake is 6 1/2 acres and stocked with a number of Carp the largest go to well over 30lb, with the current record a 39lb Mirror Carp. The lake also holds a number of good sized Tench to 10lb, Roach, Golden Rudd and Perch to around 2lb. The three smaller ponds are stock with a number of smaller fish ideal for a spot of match fishing. Shillinglee Fishery is also popular with pike anglers with a number of predatory fish including Pike to 25lb.
This picturesque fishery has many natural features along with some beautiful wildlife.

Specimen Lake - Large Lake with a number of carp and tench plus match fish.
Silverdale Pond - Small pond with small carp, tench, match fish.
Foxdale Pond - A pretty small pond with match fish.
Canal Pond - A long pond stocked with small tench.
The largest lake is a beautiful spring fed fishing lake, 6 1/2 acres in size. Stocked with a number of Ghost, Common and Mirror Carp the largest go to well over 30lb with the current record a 39lb 12oz Mirror Carp caught in 2010.The lake also holds a number of good sized Tench reaching 10lb with Roach, Golden Rudd and Perch to around 2lb along with some large Pike to nearly 30lb.

In 1995 Silverdale lake was formed from a dam being built in front of a spring that feeds the larger specimen carp lake. Silverdale pond is a deep water that holds a number of small Carp, Tench and Golden Rudd. The pond is used for breeding carp. Anglers are often reporting catches of a dozen carp a session.

Shillinglee Carp Fisheries is located just outside the village of Shillinglee between Chiddingfold and Petworth on the Surrey / West Sussex borders just off the A283.
If travelling from the direction of Petworth go through North chapel and you will come to Fisher Street cross roads, turn right at the cross roads continue for about 1 miles and pass the lake on your left hand side, after about 20 yards and turn left into car park.
From Chiddingfold take the A273 towards Petworth and turn left at the cross roads where the tourist information points to lakeside fisheries and follow the above directions to the fishery. A map of the fishery is displayed in the car park along with a common sense set of rules and fees.
