"Long lake had new Barbel"

"Long lake had new Barbel put in this year so the challenge set on his Long lake is now a joke. Two handfuls of maggot two on the hook and you have a Long lake Barbel, its now an in house joke among the regulars...".

"one of the best venues that I have fished"

"I Fish this lake at least once or twice a month on open matches and I have to say it is one of the best venues that I have fished. everyone is friendly and the owner Phil is one on the most genuine people that you will ever meet. they offer breakfast before every match and have a bait shop with more bait than most tackle shops. some people say that the motorway is noisy but any good angler wont take any notice of that as for me my concentration levels are to high to notice".

"Next to M25 "

"I fished their "Dream Lake" and "Spring Lake" today and was not very impressed. First of all, the fishery is situated right next to the M25: very noisy indeed! Second, I don't think they have got their stocking balance quite right. it felt more like fishing a carp nursery than a carp fishery. On "Dream Lake", I had almost a fish a cast, all very small carp. The picture shows one of the bigger ones! Quite frustrating, especially since the owner had told me that this was the right lake to catch species other than carp, such as crucian or tench. I then moved to "Spring Lake" which produced less takes a few slightly bigger fish - mirrors and F1's up to maybe 2lb. I must say that I fished small baits on the pole - fishing bigger baits would possibly have produced bigger fish. Anyway, I have never fished a place with so many carp tiddlers - I guess that is down to a lack of predators. Put a few perch in there, and things might start looking better! Overall, I think I would consider fishing there again if it was my local lake, but don't think it was worth a 50 min drive. Also, 10£ is quite expensive for a rather unexciting and noisy day's fishing...".

"Altogether a very enjoyable match"

"Faulkeners AC held a small (8 peg) match on Warwick Wolds Ash lake on the 5th July 2014. All 4 lakes on the complex are adjacent to the M25 so there is traffic noise but once the match started the traffic noise faded into the background and was not a problem. Breakfast was available (and very nice too) The lake fished very well yealding a top weight of 75lb and a bottom weight of 32lb. Carp were the dominant species averaging around the 1-1.5 lb mark (with a spattering of perfectly formed carp of 1-2 ozs making a show) there were also a few skimmers and roach.Bait did not seem to have too much bearing on the outcome with pellet, meat, corn and maggots all catching although the maggots did attract the very small carp. Loose feeding pellet or corrn or both seemed to be as effective as a groundbait mix and the fish came on all through the match with no blank periods. Altogether a very enjoyable match..".
