Mid Sussex Angling Club
Born from the proud heritage of two longstanding fishing clubs, Mid Sussex Angling is a newly
united community with a shared passion for the water. Our mission is simple: to make fishing
accessible to all, while safeguarding the future of our sport through responsible stewardship
of our waters. Whether you're a seasoned angler or just starting out, we invite you to cast
your line with us and be part of a club that values inclusivity, sustainability, and the joy
of angling.
Mid Sussex Angling Club has been formed by amalgamating 85 year old Copthorne and District
Angling Society (CDAS) and Haywards Heath & District Angling Society (HHDAS).
Club members receive access to a number of fishing lakes and stretches of River.
Mid Sussex Angling Club offer quiet and secluded angling on a range of picturesque venues
based in and around Copthorne and Mid-Sussex.

Mid Sussex Angling Club Lakes
Ardingly Reservoir, Ardingly
Ardingly Reservoir is a 198 acre water set in the heart of West Sussex. The fishing at Ardingly Reservoir is popular for predator fishing with good size pike and perch.
Balcombe Lake
Balcombe Lake is a large 10 acre fishing lake located North of Ardingly Reservoir.
Deaks Lane
Deaks Lane is a venue made up of 2 fishing ponds stocked with a wide range of fish species.
Little Rowfant Lakes
Little Rowfant is a venue made up of 3 fishing lakes stocked with a number of carp to 20lb+.
Piltdown Pond, Piltdown
Piltdown pond is a large 4 acre picturess pond located about two miles north-west of Uckfield. The water holds some large carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd, perch, eels and some large pike.
Mid Sussex Angling Club Rivers
River Ouse, East Sussex
The River Ouse runs from Lower Beeding in West Sussex down through Barcombe Mills from here the river is tidal to the Sea at New Haven. This lower section of the river has strong currents and has been susceptable to flooding, the upper section is fairly slow flowing.
