Avon Canal

The Avon Canal is a very popular river with tourists wishing to use the waterway and take in some of the splendid scenery and wildlife along the way. The waterway is used for many different pleasure activities including cycling, walking, boating trips that navigate through over 100 locks of the waterway and fishing.

Fish species in the Avon Canal include: Carp, Bream, Tench, Chub, Roach, Perch, Pike, Eels, Trout and Grayling.

The Avon Canal is a long waterway with stretches of the river controlled by different clubs. The waterway holds some stunning wildlife which is now thriving after much conservation. If you visit the waterway you may see Water Voles, Otters, Slow Worms, Kingfishers, Red Kites, Swans, Ducks...
