Buckshole Reservoir

Buckshole Reservoir, also referred to as Buckshole Fishing Lake is a large, deep 4 acre water located in Hastings in the relaxing Alexandra Park. The water and surroundings support a lot of wildlife including a variety of ducks. Buckshole Reservoir supports a sizeable number of coarse fish for the match fisherman, some very large carp for the carp enthusiast and some very good sized pike. The water is considered a hard fish for the carp angler but the rewards are worthwhile with carp reaching 36lb.

The reservoir is controlled by Hastings, Bexhill and District Freshwater Angling Association who also offer the water as a day ticket venue. Day tickets can be obtained on the bank.

Catch Report

"had loads of 20s"

"Ive fished bucks for about 3 years had loads of 20s and big doubles have caught lots just doing day trips but it can be hard at times too."

Review from Ivor

"difficult place to fish"

"A very difficult place to fish I find, had a 12lb pike out, have fished many times and never caught any carp, lots of bream though."

Review from Bill

"beach ball sized carp"

"Fished this lake a few times for carp without success, did have a rod bending take but it grrr didn't take. In the summer you can see the carp under the trees (when looking over the railings from the footpath), I've stood there feeding them half a loaf of bread which they took the lot. There were definitely a couple of beach ball sized carp."

Review from Dean

"3 days and didn't get even a sniff"

"I fished buckshole for 3 days and didn't get even a sniff, I think I must be doing something wrong, I read about monster carp being caught from this water all the time."

Review from E. Bird

"not an easy water to fish"

"This is not an easy water to fish but if you put the time in the rewards are there. Theres been some simmo's fish stocked few years back, some of these fish are 20lb+ now. Fish boillies in the margins over a few freebies. Good luck."
