Catch Report

"very nice 5 pound common"

"Hi, I had a fleeting three hours one week day evening, the pit had been fished all weekend by four carp anglers, reports were that they did not catch, I was informed they over fed the water? I fished into a lovely summer evening wind, I used a small cage feeder, fish meal ground bait and two pints of red maggots, size 18 hook, three red maggots, I fed small balls of pre-mixed ground bait from the day before, made my first cast, sunk the line, put my rod on its rest, waited for the tip to react, it did not take long, two taps then WAC, thank The Lord I had the rod in my hand, I thought it was a very big tench -now depending on your train of thought, give the smallest tench opposed to an eel, albeit 4 pound plus, then to my great surprise I landed a very nice 5 pound common, then three more eels."
