Crowborough and District Anglers Association provides coarse angling facilities in Sussex and Kent. It controls stretches of the River Rother and the Military Canal and has 8 fishing lakes and ponds including the waters below.

A picturesque little 1 acre lake nestled away in woodland that is around 5 feet deep. The lake is well stocked with carp and in 2011 an additional 453 leather, common and mirror were added weighing up to 2lb, the lake also holds Ghost carp. Danesfield Wood Lake is an ideal water for stalking with many otherhanging trees and bushes.

Here at Gabriel's Fishery, we have five large beautiful lakes together with a mile and a quarter of river fishing alone the banks of the Eden all of these are filled with a variety of fish species for fishing activities.
All river fishing is subject to the Environment Agency season and may include catches of chub, perch, rudd and pike.

Pennybridge lake is located in Crowborough near the town centre. The
lake was created five years ago using lottery funds and covers 1 acre.
The water is controlled by Crowborough and District Anglers Club. The
water has two stages designed for disable access. The lake contains
some large tench that reach 7lb, bream to 4lb, roach, perch and crucian
carp. Pennybridge lake has no close season.

Scaland Wood lake is a small, peaceful water that is aproximately 3/4
acre in size. The lake is sheltered by woodland trees and contains features
including weed patches, reeds and overhanging trees and bushes. The
water is stocked with lots of fish including lots of small tench and
roach and a good number of carp to 12lb. Scaland Wood lake is located
in between in Jarvis Brook on the outskirts of Crowborough.

A delightful little 1/2 acre lake that provides a great days match fishing. Shannons Old Lake is well stocked with a mix of coarse fish the largest being a 10lb common recorded in 2010, the lake also holds tench, perch, chub, gudgeon, roach and rudd. The lake has many features to fish with clumps of lily pads, marginal reeds and overhanging shrubs. Lake depth is between 3 and 6 foot deep.

Tunnel lake is a small, relaxing woodland water that is aproximately
1/2 an acre in size. The lake contains many features including lilly
pads, weed patches, reeds and overhanging trees/bushes. The water is
stocked with some nice sized carp and rudd.

Underhill lake is a small but pretty water that is aproximately 1 acre
in size. The lake contains many features including lots of lillies,
weed patches, reeds and overhanging trees. The water is stocked with
many coarse fish including some good sized tench and perch.

Weir Wood Reservoir is a 280 acre water located in the Sussex weald by the village of Forest Row next to the Ashdown forest. The reservoir is stocked with a wide range of fish with some good specimen carp and pike to over 30lbs along with bream to 14lb plus a mix of match fish species. Ideal for all anglers whether fly fishing, pike angling, carping or coarse fishing.

Wirgol ponds are two small 1/2 acre waters located between Crowborough
and Hadlow Down. Wirgol ponds between them contain some beautiful carp
to 20lb+, crucian carp to 2lb 8oz, tench to 5lb, small roach to 1lb
and some large perch to 4lb.

The River Rother runs from Rotherfield through Kent and East Sussex to the idyllic town of Rye where the mouth of the river can be found. The water holds a mix of fish species and is very popular with Pike anglers. A number of clubs have access to the river who often run match fishing competitions.

The Royal Military Canal was built around the early 1800's for defense in response to a possible invasion by Napoleon. Defensive towers were positioned along the canal. The 28 mile long canal runs from Seabrook in Kent along to East Sussex. The Military Canal holds usual array of freshwater fish found in rivers around the UK with some large Carp and Pike, Perch, Eels and Tench. This scenic water supports a variety of wildlife that includes Mute swan, Kingfisher, heron, the endangerourd water vole, mink, glow worms and frogs. The river also large patches of lily pads that looks stunning when in bloom with a blanket of yellow covering the river.
